About Firm

Jim Thornton joined Thornton, Coy & Huss, PLLC in 2004, after having
worked in a private law firm, for a large insurance company, and finally for the
Iowa Insurance Division. Jim returned to private practice because he missed
the personal interaction with clients and the variety of challenges found in a
general practice setting.

Jim graduated from Iowa State University in 1994 and from Drake University's
Law School in 1997. He is a member of the Iowa Bar Association, National
Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and is admitted to practice law
in the State of Iowa before both the state and federal courts.

THORNTON, COY & HUSS, PLLC

Jonathan Coy graduate from the Penn State, Dickinson School of law. While
studying at Penn State, Jonathan volunteered for the Adams County
(Gettysburg) Public Defender’s office. Jonathan also worked for the
Commonwealth as an intern in the General Counsel’s office for the
Departments of Conservation and Natural Resources, General Services, and
Military and Veterans Affairs. Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan worked for
Story County Legal Aid. Jonathan enjoys the opportunity to help clients receive
a fresh start in life through bankruptcy and obtain income security through
representing clients in social security appeals.

Robyn Huss is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, after
having received her undergraduate degree from Briar Cliff College in Sioux
City, Iowa. Before attending law school, she worked several years for a
non-profit agency that provided services for children with behavioral and
emotional difficulties. Robyn is admitted to practice law in Iowa, Wisconsin
and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, and is
a member of the Iowa, Wisconsin and Story County bar associations, as well
as the Iowa State Bar Family and Juvenile Law Section. She worked at a
private law firm in eastern Iowa before joining Thornton, Coy & Huss, PLLC
to focus primarily on family law matters.
